LED Street Lights Installed on Parts of Lowrie St.

July 21, 2014.  Workers installed new energy efficient LED Street Lights from the 1400 to 1800 block of Lowrie Street. “LED street lights use less energy, require less maintenance, provide a brighter light, reduce carbon dioxide emissions, and contain no mercury.” Mayor Bill Peduto.  A city-wide initiative to convert high-pressure sodium streetlights in Pittsburgh’s 32 business districts to LED lights will benefit many areas in the Northside.  Northside Chronicle 7-2013
